Privacy Policy

Polymath Society (“Polymath,” “we,” “us”) is a private, local-first tool that helps you understand how you work. This policy explains what data we access, why, where it is stored, and the choices you have. By using Polymath you agree to this policy.

The short version

• Your raw notes, documents, and conversation logs stay on your own device. They are not uploaded to our servers.
• Google sign-in shares only your name, email address, and profile picture with us. We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, or any other Google content.
• We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
• You can disconnect and delete everything at any time.

Information we access

Depending on which features you enable, Polymath may access:

• Google account basics (your name, email address, and profile picture) via the email and profile scopes — used to recognize who you are and sign you in. These are the only Google scopes we request.
• Content you add yourself — text you paste in, local folders you connect, and data-export files (for example a ChatGPT or Claude export .zip) you download from those services and choose from your own disk. This never leaves your machine unless you explicitly choose to share a result.

How we use Google user data

• To sign you in and recognize your account.
• To greet you and label your account with your name.
• For security, debugging, and to comply with applicable law.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it. It is never used to train, develop, or improve any AI or machine-learning models.

Real-world opportunities

If Polymath concludes you’re a strong fit, it can connect you to opportunities in the real world. It never reveals your private inbox data to do so. Anything ever shared is limited to an analysis report of our own inferences about you, and only when you explicitly authorize it. Your raw data stays yours.

Limited Use disclosure

Polymath Society’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Where your data lives

Polymath is local-first. The raw data we read on your behalf is stored on your own device. To deliver certain features, content you choose to analyze may be sent to processors that act strictly on your behalf to provide that feature (for example, a large-language-model provider used to generate your insights); those processors are contractually restricted from using your data for their own purposes and from training their models on it. We disclose this so you can make an informed choice before enabling those features.

Sharing

We do not share your Google user data with third parties except: (a) processors acting on your behalf to provide the features above; (b) when you explicitly ask us to share a result; (c) for security or legal reasons; or (d) as part of a merger or acquisition, with notice to you and continued protection under this policy.

Your choices and how to delete data

• Revoke Polymath’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
• Delete the app’s local data folder to remove everything stored on your device.
• Email us at the address below to request deletion of anything held server-side.

Children

Polymath is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
